1950 LEYLAND PD2/1

BIRMINGHAM CITY TRANSPORT 2222 - JOJ 222

    2222 was delivered new in 1950 to Rosebery Street garage, where it was to spend most of its working life. After withdrawal in the late 1960s it was relicensed to operate at other garages for a few months. It was finally sold for scrap in 1969. Somehow it missed the cutting torch, and finally ended up in preservation, and is still in its original BCT paintwork. Work is now underway to check and repair the engine ready for starting.
