1931 AEC REGAL COACH

PROVINCIAL COACHES R1 - JF 2378

BODY: BURLINGHAM 32 SEAT COACH
ENGINE: AEC 6 CYLINDER, 7.4 LITRE PETROL
TRANSMISSION: SLIDING MESH

Believed to be the oldest surviving Burlingham bodied vehicle, R1 was delivered new to Provincial Coaches, Leicester, and remained in service until the 1960s. The vehicle is in virtually original condition, and is still owned by the Morley Family.

On long term loan to Aston Manor Road Transport Museum, this coach certainly shows what coaching was really like in the more leisurely days of the 1930s.
