Steam Tram Info

I have a photograph of my father standing by the side of a Birmingham Steam Tram which was driven by his father (my grandfather).   My father, long since passed on, was born in 1897 and he thought that he was about 7 yrs of age when the photo was taken.   Tram enthusiasts I have spoken to cannot recall Birmingham having Steam Trams.   Do you have any information at all? If you can help please contact me here.
