Further reading

The first buses with underfloor engines were very heavy, so, like other manufacturers in the early 1950s, Guy introduced lighter weight single-deck chassis. Built as a demonstrator, this vehicle, has a lightweight Saunders Roe aluminium framed body. Although
no further Guys were built with that body, this vehicle had a full life with Doncaster independent, Blue Line.

Many LUF chassis used the lighter 5-cylinder Gardner engine, but LJW has the standard 6LW 6-cylinder version, but only has a 12 volt electrical system, which still limits its use!
