RM506 was new to Hanwell garage for trolleybus replacement on the 207 route. During its life with London Transport, it acquired a Leyland O.600 engine as part of an Aldenham overhaul. On leaving LT in 1984, it was bought by the West Midlands Probation Service, who donated it to the museum four years later, in a very poor state. It took until 2004 to return the bus to the road, since when it has been a popular member of the operational fleet and has starred in several television dramas.
