The Wolf chassis of 2 or 2½ ton payload was launched in 1933, and continued in production until 1962. Our model is a 1936 chassis which was a spare at the factory. It was intended to be a Corporation dustcart, hence the small road wheels, but in 1938 an ambulance body was built onto it, and the vehicle became the Guy factory ambulance, where it stayed until 1968 when it retired.
The vehicle still runs and attended rallies as recently as 2003. When it was owned by Guy, it was painted green, but acquired its present cream livery when it was used for filming in the Miss Marple programmes.
It is currently on loan to Aston Manor Road Transport Museum.
