Vacancies

Volunteer hours are flexible and can be adjusted to suit your own needs; if you can do a couple of hours one morning or afternoon during the week (Tuesday, Thursday and weekends), that would help enormously. In some roles, you could even volunteer at home (see details for each role) - certainly don't be put off by thinking we want to take over your life! We will work with you, and offer training where needed. Please drop us an e-mail (amrtm1@aol.co.uk) in the first instance or come and see us at the Museum.
Job Title Job Description Closing Date
Archive Volunteer If you would like to help keep our extensive archive system up to date, you would be warmly welcomed. A knowledge of buses and bus operations would help but is not essential, accurate notes and computer familiarity would help. Some archive activities would suit home working, otherwise two hour sessions working with existing volunteers can be arranged. Call or e-mail to enquire. -
Trustee The Museum is governed by a Board of Directors, who function as Museum Trustees. If you feel you could help in this role, please get in contact; a recent student with ambitions to enter Museum Management professionally would find this a good addition to their CV. Equally, someone with recent business management experience might enjoy using their expertise in a less-stressful way after retirement! Experience in Marketing would be a help, but is not essential. A commitment to one monthly meeting lasting a couple of hours required; any more time to suit you. For more details of this role, please e-mail amrtm1@aol.co.uk. -
Crafting Skills or a new project, are you skilled in making items from fabric, probably with a sewing machine? This would be home-based - unless you would prefer to come into the Museum - and involve making small items from heavy duty fabric. Hours totally to suit yourself, inspiration would help! -
Other Vacancies Active volunteers with a very wide range of skills and knowledge are always welcome! Could you do a couple of hours 'front of house' or in our shop? Could you drive or conduct for us on event days and special occasions (for driving, full PCV licence and old vehicle experience essential, CPC not necessary)? Have you marketing skills? An hour or two a week could be really helpful to us. -
